I’m not one of those millionaires
I screw the bolts at Citroen
I can’t afford much at the fair
From weekday to weekend.
But still I have my litte thrills
That give me joy
And cost a song,
And so when my shift is fini
I skip between the Porte Saint-Denis
And the Boulevard des Italiens.

I like to stroll down the grands boulevards
There are so many things
So many things to see.
We see great days of hope
Days of anger that bring out
The militant in you.
There (on the GBs) beat the heart of Paris
Always ardent, sometimes cocky,
With its chants and its screams
Lots of moments of history
Are written all over the grands boulevards
